Week3:Personal problems of Consumerism

Let's consider what the personal problems of consumerism are ! <Case 1:Ehomaki > In Japan, we had an ' Ehomaki rolls problem '. I think that this problem was caused by 3 steps. Firstly, we have a premise that a lot of people eat ehomaki rolls in Setsubun. (This is consumerism .) Secondly, a lot of ehomaki rolls are put in the store. (This is mass production .) Lastly, a lot of ehomaki rolls remain be in the store without being bought by someone. (This is mass disposal .) In this way, consumerism and other problems related to it are big problems and it affects our lives. What I want to say is...   <Definition of 'Consumerism'> Do you know "Consumerism"? Consumerism is the belief that it is good to buy and use a lot of goods and services. I chose this topic because Japanese people, including me, tend to be the one who live in the society of Consumerism. Also, I think most people don't realize that they are captured by consumerism. What is Consumerism? For example, ・buy clothes, shoes, and bags too much (more than the number you really put on) ・eat too much (more  than the amount you need to live) Think about yourself ! You may be captured by consumerism unknowingly. Consumerism causes pollution of environment and makes us forget the gratitude for things.
